Who Knew?
That there was a treasure on the east side of the Shenandoah River that could rival Jefferson County's other historical gems; the Washington Family homes, the Peter Burr House, Shepherdstown and the big enchilada, Harpers Ferry? We sure Didn't!
A place that was visited by AT LEAST 6 presidents with anecdotal evidence of many as 13 POTUS enjoying the "healing waters".
In the 1830's, the Springs rated an Adam's Staffordshire China plate as a part of a series featuring: Catskill Mountain House; Falls of Niagara; Harper's Ferry; Headwaters of the Juniata; Lake George; Military School, West Point; Montevideo, Connecticut; New York; Schenectady on the Mohawk River; View Near Conway, New Hampshire and White Mountains, New Hampshire; and last but certainly not least, Our very own Shannondale Springs.
World Renown indeed!
